Little Taonga necklace - Matariki (gold)


This stunning necklace is designed by Little Taonga, based in Kaikoura. Taonga means 'treasure' or 'gift' in te reo Māori.  

This new design is a beautiful Goddess - Matariki, she is the whaea (mother), surrounded by her six daughters, Tupu-ā-nuku, Tupu-ā-rangi, Waipuna-ā-rangi, Waitī and Waitā, and Ururangi.
The necklace also features the Matariki star as an additional charm on the chain.  
The reverse it shows the cluster of 9 Matariki stars with the actual Marama moon phase for Matariki 2022, as well as the Southern Cross (Te Pae Māhutonga) depicted too.
The full 9 Matariki stars are  Matariki, Tupu-ā-nuku, Tupu-ā-rangi, Waipuna-ā-rangi, Waitī, Waitā, Ururangi, Pōhutukawa, and Hiwa-i-te-rangi 
The length of the necklace is adjustable from 40-50cm. 

Pendant size is 22.5 x 12.5mm, and chain has additional star charm attached.

Made with brass and plated with 18ct gold and presented in a gorgeous corked glass bottle which you can use for a multitude of different things, and a beautifully illustrated information card.
