These pieces are designed and made by owner\/operator Esther McDonald (Ngā Puhi, Ngāti Wai, Ngāti Pukenga).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll Thea pieces are thrown on the pottery wheel and made for every day use.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese lidded pots are thrown on the pottery wheel and hand glazed in 3 different glazes:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Muka is named after the fibre that come from Harakeke (flax), Muka is a beautiful cream glaze.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Pōuriuri is a darkest green glaze, with a satin finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Karamea (translates to \"caramel\" in Te reo Māori) but also talks to the clay banks on Waiheke Island.
