These pieces are designed and made by owner\/operator Esther McDonald (Ngā Puhi, Ngāti Wai, Ngāti Pukenga).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll Thea pieces are thrown on the pottery wheel and made for every day use.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese mugs are thrown on the pottery wheel and hand glazed in 3 different glazes:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Muka is named after the fibre that come from Harakeke (flax), Muka is a beautiful cream glaze.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Pōuriuri is a darkest green glaze, with a satin finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e- Karamea (translates to \"caramel\" in Te reo Māori) but also talks to the clay banks on Waiheke Island. This glaze is a satin terracotta glaze with lovely warm, pink and peach tones.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe brutalist clay is a hard wearing clay, that has a light feel and concrete look.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese mugs are perfect for a shorter drink, made especially for long black coffee.
