Ceramic Heart Bowl

Handmade by Lava Ceramics, and sculpted by hand, these wee ceramic bowls with a ceramic heart are delightful!

Perfect on their own - or a great ring bowl (or rock salt!)

Each is finished with a lovely glossy glaze. Approx 60mm diameter.

Lava Ceramics is a small pottery studio based in Lyttelton, Christchurch.

Artist statement:

I'm Cari (Caroline) Quinn and I’m the muddy hands behind Lava Ceramics.

As long as I can remember I’ve been happiest while I’m being creative. It took me until my 40’s to discover clay. Once I did, there was no going back…It began when I started sculpting my own rescue dog, then our rabbit, then I started on the dogs in the neighbourhood. Now I have created an enormous dog pack, and badgers, cats, sharks, mice, chickens, birds and so much more…..
My background is in architecture and you may see elements of that in my more practical items. My main inspiration is from nature and living creatures. In particular, their cheeky characters.
