Ceramic Polar Bear in Cave

Handmade by Lava Ceramics, and sculpted by hand, these caves look pretty during the day but really come alive at night when you light the fire for your polar bear.  The light illuminates the cave and flickers through the holes.  

Be careful as the top of the cave can get hot! Battery tealight candles are great for these, but we do supply a tealight candle to get started with.

Each piece is finished with a lovely glossy glaze, and presented in a sturdy gift box with instructions for use. Approx 10cm wide at base.

Artist statement:

I'm Cari (Caroline) Quinn and I’m the muddy hands behind Lava Ceramics.

As long as I can remember I’ve been happiest while I’m being creative. It took me until my 40’s to discover clay. Once I did, there was no going back…It began when I started sculpting my own rescue dog, then our rabbit, then I started on the dogs in the neighbourhood. Now I have created an enormous dog pack, and badgers, cats, sharks, mice, chickens, birds and so much more…..
My background is in architecture and you may see elements of that in my more practical items. My main inspiration is from nature and living creatures. In particular, their cheeky characters.
