These whakakai (earrings) are part of her 'Karawhiua Collection' which has a simple and natural vibe by using flax leaf as the main material focus. The collection name: Karawhiua is a reminder that you are capable as you are and to go for it! Give it heaps!

HONO - (United) 4 strands of wharariki (NZ flax). Length (flax leaf): approximately 2 - 3cm

WHAKAHOU - POTO (Renew) 1 short strand of wharariki (NZ flax). Length (flax leaf): approximately 5cm in length

WHAKAHOU - TUARUA (Renew) 2 strands of wharariki (NZ flax). Length (flax leaf): approximately 6cm in length

HAEATA (Beam of light) 5 strands of wharariki (NZ flax). Flax leaf strands approximately 2-4cm each in length

Āe! (Yes!) I am a one wahine band at this stage with a background in both the fine and creative arts, choreography and performance in dance and kapa haka and love to tutu with all sorts of art mediums including digital.
My mission is to use my creative gifts to create unique pieces that aim to boost confidence, create a connection, a belonging and to embrace identity. I am drawn to highlighting the beauty in our differences, what makes us each unique from one another and being unapologetically ourselves. We hold so much power and beauty in that but also in unity, by sharing and growing together as well.
The idea behind KIHI TOI began during my wedding preparation and the early healing process of my Dad's passing. My Dad is the backbone and inspiration behind KIHI TOI and my greatest supporter. KIHI TOI means 'Art Kiss' or 'Kiss Art' (depending on which way you look at it. Technically it is backwards, like me). It is a play on my Dad's cheeky humour.
