Nichola Te Kiri earrings - Tino Rangatiratanga

These stunning earrings are by NZ textile and fashion/jewellery designer Nichola Te Kiri.

They are from her Ngā Uara (Values) collection are based on the values that Nichola and whānau work and live by.

This design projects the power that is absolute sovereignty. This is encapsulated in the maunga design as being resolute and steadfast in its environment. The repetition of the design embedded in the tāniko framework is a reminder that our absolute sovereignty and determination is ours uniquely in many landscapes and forms.

Nichola Te Kiri, of dual Māori and Pākeha heritage, was raised in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton), Aotearoa. Her upbringing within two worlds has helped develop her aesthetic for bold and courageous lines, prints and designs. A natural creative all her life, Nichola explores narratives drawn from the environment around her as well as her heritage and upbringing. Curiosity and innovation drive Nichola to go beyond expectation, always striving to produce quality products.

From small humble beginnings of polymer clay and bead earrings to mixed media pieces, Nichola continually evolves her designs and media to push her boundaries and raise expectations.
