Curionoir Parfums

We are delighted to be stocking these stunning fragrances from Curionoir.

Curionoir is built on deeply rooted traditions and memories of relatives weaving flax, carving bone and wood, and mixing tinctures of native herbs.

Tiffany Witehira (Ngāpuhi) draws on her own past to respond to the rich, varied history of perfumery. The fragrances created by Curionoir are designed to bind to the skin, their essence blending with the wearers to create an utterly unique experience: a story entirely their own.

These 4ml parfums are a pocket-sized bottle of absolute parfum, composed from the finest ingredients. Each Curionoir scent is mixed in Grasse and bottled locally in Taamaki Makaurau. A beautiful, intimate gift for yourself or your loved one.

Please note that from time to time the shape of the glass bottle may change, but they will always contain 4ml of parfum.

KIHIKIHI: The journey of the Kihikihi

Notes: Tarata, Lemon, Pepper, Incense Wood, Lavender, Volet, Rose, Styrax, Smoked Wood, Labdanum, Cedarwood.  

Rustic, woody, leathery; inspired by the journey of the kihikihi or known by some iwi Māori, te tarakihi (te reo Māori name for cicada) from years spent buried underground, to its short lifespan upon emergence. Top notes of tarata, pepper, incense wood, and lavendin represent the high-pitched vibrations of kihikihi song. The depths reveal smoked wood, violet blossoms, rubber, styrax, and labdanum, alluding to the long, slow period the kihikihi spends deep within the soil.

IRTIU NEFERTITI: The Beauty has arrived.

Notes of Blue Lotus, Fig Wood, Osmanthus Flowers, Passionflower, Gaiac Wood, Sandalwood, Musk

The sacred, primordial and fragrant Nymphaea caerulea, or Blue Lotus, was applied to the body of Egyptian Queen Nefertiti. Still one of the most important artefacts that remains from the Ancient Egyptian civilisation, Nymphaea caerulea was believed to gift euphoria and lift consciousness to the higher realms.

OPIA: Pupils black, glittering, bottomless…

Notes: Rhubarb, Oud Wood Absolute, Virginian Cedarwood, Australian Sandalwood, Labdanum Absolute.

Looking in to someones eyes is warming, vulnerable and invasive all at once, pupils glittering and opaque. Our interpretation of this feeling is Opia, a fruity, woody unisex parfum.

PABLO: Intense gaze, smoke and paint

Notes: Lemon, Frankincense, Freesia, Mimosa, Cuban Tobacco Leaves, Coriander, Vanilla Absolute, Tonka Beans

Clean, clear whites of his eyes, cigarette in hand, warming skin, veins pulsing, gold band, intensity with gaze, lines on face.

NGUTU PA: Lips that touch. Animalic, Earthy, Spicy, Floral

Notes: Cinnamon, Nargomotha, Angelica, Cedarwood, Cacao, Orris, Rose Absolute, Rockrose, Oud, Vanilla, Castoreum.

MOON MOSS: Drawing from the intelligent organs of the earth; the wetlands, with moonlight, and visions of swans in the shallows.

GLORIA: Parfum created for Kristine Crabb

Notes: Jasmine, Freesia, Mimosa, Camelia, Lily of the Valley, Clovebud, Sandalwood, Ambergris.

This fragrance was created by Curionoir for designer Kristine Crabb's label, also named Gloria. Gloria perfum, transmutes Kristine’s vision into an ambrosial nectar that at once evokes a feeling of primordial and modern worlds. Inspired by Kristine’s grandmother’s garden, her life and independence, Gloria is a poetic floral bouquet, fortified with woody spices and grounded by a dark, dirty earthiness.

"Gloria is an extremely special parfum, not only because it is the only parfum I have created for another label, but Kristine Crabb has been one of my closest friends for over 20 years. Encapsulating the legacy of the life of her grandmother, Gloria, in a fragrant liquid was an honour.
