Poutini Long Aroha Schist Earrings

These earrings are individually hand-carved from "Aroha" stone (Piemontite Schist). The beautiful pinky lavender maroon colours come from the manganese content in the schist stone. It also contains mica which gives it a pretty sparkle. Each piece has unique characteristics formed over millions of years, giving them their own identity, colour and character - with no two alike.

These are handmade for HAPA by Hokitika based Poutini Pounamu (master carver Tyrone Tainui, Ngāi Tahu). They carry the natural marks of an item that is completely hand carved/made.

All metal is sterling silver
