HAWAIIKI PĒPI
Āhuru Swaddle Wraps
The beautiful Āhuru baby swaddle is available in 2 colours:
The Kākāriki Swaddle draws its name from the lush greenery of the ngahere, symbolising growth, renewal, and the deep connection between our pēpi and te taiao.
The Mā Swaddle embodies purity, peace, and new beginnings. Soft beige kōwhaiwhai patterns flow across the clean mā (white) base, symbolising the beauty of whakapapa and the rhythm of life.
Crafted from soft, breathable bamboo cotton, these swaddles offers comfort and care while wrapping your baby in the essence of te ao Māori.
"Hiwa and Awa Co. was inspired by the births of our Tama, “Awariki” and “Hiwa,” born just four days apart. As sisters; Rebekah and Jessica Brady, we envisioned creating Māori and Polynesian-inspired products for both Pēpi and Māmā in support of the various stages of motherhood especially during those early days. Our high-quality products are designed in Aotearoa, drawing inspiration from our taiao and incorporating traditional Māori practices.
Our mission is to create products that grow with your Pēpi, throughout the seasons, ages, and stages. As Māori wahine, we value our whenua and strive to ensure our products are natural and environmentally friendly, giving back to Papatūānuku. We aim to celebrate indigenous cultures by incorporating Māori and Polynesian-inspired designs into all our product collections.
Ko Wai Māua? He uri māua nō Te Arawa me Ngāpuhi
We are a whānau run pakihi led by two sisters, part of a big whānau of six tamāhine. Our whakapapa connects us to both the North (Pakotai) and the East Coast (Matatā).
We believe in giving back to our community, a principle evident in our daily mahi as a kaiako and Registered Nurse. When we are not busy with mahi, we cherish time with our whānau and friends. Between us both, we have seven awesome tamariki.
“We want to show our tamariki that with hard work and focus on what fuels your wairua, you will always succeed in whatever you set out to achieve.”
We cant wait to share our Pakihi with you and your whānau
Nga mihi nui
