We are proud to introduce this beautiful piece from Rerehua Boutique - the HE KĀKANO AHAU Necklace

"He kākano ahau i ruia mai i Rangiātea, e kore au e ngaro.
I am a seed sown from Rangiātea, I will never be lost".

This whakatauki is a celebration of the Polynesian heritage of Aotearoa. This proverb speaks of identity and connection to the Pacific. Aotearoa is the name given by Kupe's wife as they travelled through the Pacific Ocean to the islands of the Land of the Long White Cloud.
Rangiātea is a significant place for Māori, physically and spiritually. Rangiātea is located in Tahiti and known as Ra’iatea. The place is also featured in the legend of Tānenuiarangi as he gathered the baskets of knowledge from the heavens of Rangiātea.
Wear this piece with pride as a reminder of our Pacific heritage.
