Huikai Creations Candles
Huikai Creations soy candles are handmade with love by a whanau business here in Otautahi, Christchurch, using all natural soy candle wax, fragrance oils and cotton wicks.
Each candle comes in a lovely weighty amber glass jar, dressed with a selections of crystals and shells set into them. This is a large size 250gm candle with a 30 hour burn time..
The fragrance choices are:
Korōria - The most popular candle, she is a sweet summery tropical scent that gives you island vibes.
Ātaahua - This is a gorgeous floral scented candle. Light this candle and your whare (house )will smell like a bouquet of fresh Jasmine Roses & Vanilla. The fragranced oil used to create this beauty is inspired by the perfume Flowerbomb. The meaning of Ātaahua is beautiful!
Tautahi - "Named for our first born, our son Tautahi". This a sweet salted caramel scent. Light this candle and your home will fill with a delicious baked caramel smell.
Marae Apple Pie - Remember the sweet warm scent of apple pie cooking at the marae? This candle smells incredible, light this candle and your whare will smell like you have been busy baking.
Karia Grace - "Karia Grace is our niece, she is everything to us and this candle scent reminds us of her cute happy joyful little personality". The scent of this candle is sweet summer strawberry scent. It will fill your space with pure joy.
Wai Maori - "This is a fresh scented candle, this scent reminds me of the water we grew up around. Our pa stream had fresh mint growing along the edge...this candle reminds me of that"

Artist statement:
"Huikai Creations is a small whānau pakihi (family business) based in Ōtautahi. We whakapapa to Ngāti Huikai. We have a beautiful range of soy candles that all have specific meaning to us, either named after our tamariki (children) other whānau members or places and memories.
