NZ Florals Journal

This beautiful art notebook has unlined pages, in a mixture of white and kraft papers.

It has a hard cover with a high quality modern reprint created from an extremely high resolution scan of an original (1899) vintage poster published originally by the New Zealand Graphic and Star Printing Works. “Native Flowers of New Zealand” was a very early NZ natural history colour lithograph of the original painting by William Huddlestone, lithographed by William Shaw Diedrich Schmidt. Features native NZ flowers including pohutukawa, clematis, kowhai, kakabeak, hebes and daisies in a wooden Kumete bowl (these were mostly made in Rotorua for the tourist market in the late 1800's).

The exposed binding technique is both strong and durable, and lends character to this journal.
