MEA NZ made natural fragrance

We are very proud to represent MEA, a natural perfume oil crafted in New Zealand with sustainably hand-harvested Taramea. It is a sacred treasure species which is blended with the highest quality fragrance ingredients to bring you a collection of four distinct perfumes.

Together they weave a thread in the story of an innovative and resourceful people – Ngāi Tahu. For centuries Ngāi Tahu ancestors have harvested Taramea, plaited the leaves and heated them over many days to release and extract the aromatic resin.

MEA is brought to you by Kāti Huirapa Rūnaka ki Puketeraki with the support of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. Their aim is to revive and share the Ngāi Tahu cultural practice of perfume making with the world, telling the story of their long and special relationship with Taramea.

Natural vitamin E oil provides antioxidant protection, enhancing the life of your fragrance. Each comes in a 10ml clear glass bottle with roller top and silver cap, box packaged to remind you of its origins and the beauty of Aotearoa.

TARAMEA AND WOOD - Surround yourself with hints of the forest. Taramea & Wood carries notes of patchouli, vanilla and earthy sandalwood.

TARAMEA AND WATER - Take a moment in the glacier waters of Aotearoa and surround yourself with fresh, crisp air. Taramea & Water carries notes of fresh cyclamen, rosewood, mint and vetiver.

DARK SKIES - Dark Skies carries notes of Ylang Ylang, clove, bergamot and sweet vanilla.
