Nostalgem Paua Beachstone studs
This beautiful pair of real paua shells are sculpted with 'beachstone', and set on hypoallergenic stainless steel earring posts.
The ‘beachstone’ setting is handmade from resin putty and clay. Hand formed with New Zealand beach sand inclusions, they’ve chosen marine turquoise colours to match the hues of the paua and the ocean.
To many, Paua shells symbolise the expression of the well-known quote “it is not what is outside, but what is inside that counts.” Textured on the outside and lustrous on the inside... a reminder to shine your light from the inside out.
Paua shells can also be a symbol of home - wear this jewellery to remind yourself that you will always have a safe haven wherever life may take you.
Nostalgems' Paua shells have been sourced from a sustainable and ethical local paua farm. These shells have not reached full maturity so have been sustainably repurposed for jewellery.

"Nostalgem is Rina Ward - Jewellery Artist. Nature Scavenger. Beachcomber. I collect pieces of flora and fauna (most often native to New Zealand) and I create them into one-of-a-kind jewellery. Native seashells, fishbones, beach sand, leaves, petals and pods . These are the precious gems of my unpretentious yet meaningful jewellery line.
