"Kia Ora, I'm Nikki Kennedy, Director of Taputapu. My journey to reclaim Te Reo Māori and my Māori identity led to the creation of Taputapu which has two distinct brands: Taputapu Toi, specializing in graphic design services, and Taputapu Toa, our lifestyle brand offering Māori homeware products.
Originally from Gisborne, my quest to understand my identity drove me to study Te Reo Māori and Design Media, culminating in a Master's in Computer Graphic Design. Fusing my heritage with my creative passion, I founded Taputapu Toi to provide culturally significant graphic design for Māori businesses.
Our studio, now based in Gisborne, aims to foster cultural connections through our modern Māori-inspired designs, catering to businesses and homes nationwide"
