These stunning earrings are individually handmade by contemporary Māori Ngāi Tahu textile artists Alice Spittle and Jacinta Topia, for the Hāpai Collective.

Each pair of whatu muka nui earrings are handmade using traditional techniques and dyed using natural plant dyes.
Hand woven with muka fibre, extracted from Aotearoa / New Zealand harakeke/flax. 

Note that each of these earrings can be cut shorter or to the length you want - particularly if you find they are brushing your shoulders etc - kia kaha! Simply comb and trim to suit!


The muka section is 75-80mm long, stainless steel components.

Presented on a custom HĀPAI card, which has a QR code with further info on the earrings and makers.
